I’m giving away one copy of the The Mother’s Manual, a prayer book by Fr. A. Francis Coomes
I’ve been so busy lately I’ve forgotten to do one major thing.
Pray for my children.
My prayer life has been pretty rough lately. When I’m juggling working, writing, homemaking, and homeschooling, it seems like my spiritual life slips to the bottom of the priority list. This is highly ironic, given the fact I’m on CatholicMom today writing about how children sanctify us.
If I’m going to strive for holiness, I better be actively doing something about it.
Enter this little book. The Mothers’ Manual by A. Francis Coomes, S.J., was first published in 1973 as a help for mothers and expectant mothers. Fr. Coomes divided the book into five sections, each with a series of relevant prayers, meditations, and words of encouragement:
- In Preparation for Motherhood and for Young Motherhood
- For Motherhood and Married Life
- For Times of Special Problems
- Blessings and Feasts
- Counsels and Helps for a Wife and Mother
A dear friend gave me this book when my first daughter was born, and it’s seen me through the first decade of my motherhood.
Because this book is so precious and helpful, I’m excited to give away one copy of The Mother’s Manual to a lucky reader. You can enter the giveaway here.
